Mailing lists are a useful tool for sending one message to multiple recipients simultaneously. In cPanel, you can easily create, administer, and delete mailing lists for your website. Here's how you can do it:
Creating a Mailing List
- Log in to cPanel.
- Navigate to the Mailing Lists tool:
- Under "Create a Mailing List," enter the desired name for your mailing list in the "List Name" text box.
- Select the domain for the mailing list from the "Domain" list box.
- Enter a password for the mailing list in the "Password" text box. You can also use the "Password Generator" option to generate a strong password.
- Retype the password in the "Password (Again)" text box.
- Choose the access type for the mailing list: Public or Private. Most mailing lists are private.
- Click on the "Add" button to create the mailing list.
Administering a Mailing List
- Log in to cPanel.
- Go to the Mailing Lists tool following the same steps mentioned above.
- Under "Current Lists," locate the mailing list you want to manage.
- To change the mailing list password, select the "Change Password" option.
- To access the Mailman administration page, select the "Manage" option.
- You can find more configuration options for mailing lists in the Mailman documentation at http://www.list.org/docs.html.
- To delegate administrative privileges to other users, select the "Delegation" option. Move the desired users from the "Available Users" field to the "List Administrators" field and click "Save." To revoke administrative privileges, do the opposite.
Deleting a Mailing List
- Log in to cPanel.
- Go to the Mailing Lists tool following the same steps mentioned above.
- Under "Current Lists," locate the mailing list you want to delete.
- Click on the "Delete" button.
- Confirm the deletion by clicking on "Delete Mailing List."
Please note that when you delete a mailing list, all archives, current emails, and member email addresses associated with it will also be deleted. Make sure to download or copy any important information before deleting a mailing list, as the data will be unrecoverable.
