Accessing Web Disk on Microsoft Operating Systems Print

To access a Web Disk using Windows, follow these steps based on your operating system:

Windows 8 or Windows 10

  1. Start File Explorer and click on Computer.
  2. Click on Add a network location. The Add Network Location Wizard will appear.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Choose a custom network location and click Next.
  5. In the Internet or network address text box, type the URL of your Web Disk, replacing example.com with your server name and port number.
  6. Click Next.
  7. Enter the username and password for your Web Disk account and click OK.
  8. To save your credentials, select the Remember my credentials check box.
  9. Optionally, change the network place name and click Next.
  10. To access the Web Disk immediately, select the Open this network location when I click Finish check box.
  11. Click Finish. The Web Disk home directory will appear in File Explorer.

Windows 7

  1. From the Desktop, click the Start menu and then click Computer.
  2. Click Map Network Drive.
  3. Select the drive letter you want to use from the Drive list box.
  4. In the Folder text box, type the URL of your Web Disk, replacing example.com with your server name and port number.
  5. Click Finish.
  6. Enter the username and password for your Web Disk account when prompted.
  7. To save your credentials, select the Remember my credentials check box.
  8. Click OK. Windows will establish a connection to the Web Disk account and open an Explorer window showing the files.

Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows 2003, or Windows 2000

  1. From the Desktop, click the Start menu and then click Computer or My Network Places.
  2. Click Add a network place or Add Network Location.
  3. Select Choose another network location or Connect to a Web site that you can use to store your documents and pictures.
  4. Follow the prompts and enter the URL of your Web Disk, replacing example.com with your server name and port number.
  5. Enter the username and password for your Web Disk account.
  6. To save your credentials, select the Remember my credentials or Remember my password check box.
  7. Click Finish. The Web Disk home directory will appear in Windows Explorer or My Network Places.

Windows 98

  1. Double-click My Computer from the desktop.
  2. Double-click Web Folders.
  3. Double-click Add Web Folder.
  4. In the Type the location to add text box, type the URL of your Web Disk, replacing example.com with your server name and port number.
  5. Click Next.
  6. Enter the username and password for your Web Disk account and click OK.
  7. To change the Web Folder name, type the new name in the text box.
  8. Click Finish. The Web Disk home directory will appear.

Remember to replace example.com with your actual server name and port number.
