If you are facing problems with forwarded messages not reaching Outlook.com, you can configure your Outlook.com account to directly access another email account. This eliminates the need for an email forwarder and allows you to access messages from the other account directly in your Outlook.com inbox.
To set up this configuration, follow these steps:
- Disable any email forwarders that you have set up to forward messages from your Turnuphosting account to Outlook.com.
- Log in to your Outlook.com account.
- Click on the settings icon (Outlook settings icon) and select "View all Outlook settings."
- In the left sidebar, click on "Sync email."
- Under "Connected accounts," click on "Other email accounts."
- In the "Connect your account" dialog box, select the "Manually configure account settings" checkbox under "Advanced settings" and click "OK."
- In the "Advanced settings" dialog box, enter the email address you want to access from Outlook.com in the "Email address" text box.
- In the "User name" text box, enter the full email address of your Turnuphosting account (e.g., user@example.com).
- Enter the password for your Turnuphosting account in the "Password" text box.
- Choose where you want the imported email messages to be stored. You can either create a new folder in Outlook or import them into existing Outlook folders.
- Select the connection type, either IMAP or POP.
- Enter your Turnuphosting server name in the "Incoming (IMAP) server" or "Incoming (POP) server" text box.
- The incoming server port should automatically change to the correct value:
- For IMAP, the port is 993.
- For POP, the port is 995.
- If you are using POP and want to keep copies of messages on the Turnuphosting server, select the "Leave a copy of messages on the server" checkbox.
- Confirm that the "Authentication" list box is set to "Basic."
- Confirm that the "Encryption" list box is set to "SSL."
- You can also send email for the account from Outlook.com:
- To send email using the Turnuphosting server, select "Send email using your provider's server" and enter the same server name used in step 12 in the "Outgoing (SMTP) server" text box.
- Alternatively, to send email using Outlook.com, select "Send email using the Outlook.com server."
- Click "OK." If Outlook.com successfully connects to the account, it will appear under "Manage your connected accounts." If there are connection issues, double-check the information provided in steps 7 to 17 and try again.
- To access the messages in the account, locate the account name in the left sidebar and click on "Inbox."
