Synchronizing local clients with webmail calendars and contacts

To set up a local client for server access, follow these steps:

  1. Get the remote configuration:

    • Log into your webmail account at http://www.example.com:2096, replacing "example.com" with your domain name.
    • Click on the account name in the top menu bar to access the preferences and settings menu.
    • Select "Calendars and Contacts" from the menu.
    • Take note of the information displayed, as it will be needed for the next step.
  2. Set up the local client:

    • Open your local client, such as Microsoft Outlook.
    • Enter the required information in the server settings:
      • In the DAV URL field, enter the Server URL or Alternate Server URL obtained from step 1.
      • In the Username field, enter your full email address.
      • In the Password field, enter your email password.
      • In the Email address field, enter your full email address.
    • Click "Test" or "Discover Settings" to retrieve a list of available calendars and contact lists.
    • Select the desired calendar or contact list and click "OK".
    • Repeat the process for each additional calendar or contact list you want to add.

If the auto-configuration process fails, you can use the direct URLs provided in step 1 to manually connect to the remote server. Simply enter the direct URL for a calendar or contact from the Secure SSL/TLS URLs and click "Test" or "Discover Settings" to verify the connection.

By following these steps, you will be able to set up a local client for server access and manage your calendars and contacts efficiently.
